Shipping policy
How do you package fragile antique items?
Each piece is carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue paper, cushioned with biodegradable packing materials, and secured in custom-fitted boxes. Fragile items like hand-carved sculptures, papier-mâché bowls, and vintage vessels receive additional protective layers and are marked as fragile. We take extra care to ensure your antiques arrive in perfect condition.
Which shipping carriers do you use and is insurance included?
We primarily ship via Royal Mail and DPD for domestic UK orders, with full insurance coverage included on all shipments. For international orders, we use tracked and insured services through Royal Mail International and DHL. High-value items automatically receive additional insurance at no extra cost to you.
Do you ship internationally? What about customs and duties?
Yes, we ship worldwide. International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees required by their country. We provide full documentation and declare accurate values to ensure smooth customs clearance. Delivery times vary by destination, typically 1-3 days for international orders.
What are your delivery timeframes?
UK orders typically arrive within 3-5 business days via standard shipping, or 1-2 business days with express service. International shipping times vary by destination: Europe 1-4 days, North America 1-4 days, rest of world 2-4 working days. You'll receive tracking information once your order ships.
What is your policy on returns and damage claims?
If your item arrives damaged, please photograph the packaging and damage immediately and contact us within 48 hours. We'll file an insurance claim and arrange a replacement or full refund. For returns on undamaged items, please review our Returns Policy. Given the fragile nature of antiques, we recommend inspecting your delivery upon arrival.
Can I arrange for local collection or special delivery?
For customers in London, we may be able to arrange local delivery or collection by appointment for larger pieces. Please contact us to discuss options and availability.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Shop Pay, PayPal, and other secure payment methods through Shopify Payments. All transactions are encrypted and processed securely. For American customers please make sure your order is authorised for international payments as sometimes banks may decline the payment.
Why was my payment declined?
Payment declines can happen for several reasons: your card may not support international or online transactions, your bank may have flagged the purchase for security, or there may be insufficient funds. Some prepaid or gift cards have restrictions on the types of purchases they support. We recommend contacting your bank to authorise the transaction or trying an alternative payment method.
Is it safe to shop on your website?
Absolutely. We use Shopify's secure checkout with SSL encryption to protect your payment information. We never store your full card details, and all transactions are processed through PCI-compliant payment gateways.
Can I use a different payment method if my card doesn't work?
Yes! If you're experiencing issues with a card payment, we recommend trying PayPal or Shop Pay as alternative options. Both offer secure checkout and may work better for international transactions. If you continue to have difficulties, please contact us directly and we'll help find a solution.
Do you accept payment plans or instalments?
Depending on your location and order value, you may see installment payment options like Shop Pay Installments at checkout. These allow you to split your purchase into smaller payments over time.
Will I be charged in GBP or my local currency?
Prices are displayed in GBP (British Pounds). If you're paying with a card from outside the UK, your bank will convert the amount to your local currency, and you may see a foreign transaction fee depending on your card issuer's policies.
